Mike Mignola. Jeeeeeeee-nee-us!
I'm that Curtis Jobling, writer and illustrator. You may know me as designer of "Bob the Builder" (sorry) and creator of "Raa Raa the Noisy Lion" and "Frankenstein's Cat". I'm also the author of the "Wereworld" series of fantasy horror novels and the darkly comic YA thriller "Haunt". Published by Puffin, Penguin US, Simon & Schuster and Egmont around the world.

just incase that's not clear:)
Cool! Love it! :p
Ah, everything I'd hoped it'd look like. Great choice, Bobzilla next please!
(Bub the Builder should be with gyou by now, please make sure he is well fed)
I want to see Sponge Bob,oh hang on he's already a character ! Oh well ! This pic is nice !
most excellent!...a very funny take.
very nice.
ABOB Sapian!
Liz SherBOB!
RogBOB the HumuncuBOB!
Trevor BOBenholm and BOBori Rasputin? Maybe we should draw a veil over characters from the Hellboy universe, although I do like the sound of ABOB Sapien...
:-D
In the HELLBOY ANIMATED area of Film Roman there was a drawing on the wall of HELLBOB PARANORMAL PANTS... Spongebob done all Mignola-ey. Mr. Krabbs made the best Lobster Johnson ever.
I think the ROBOB COP idea needs to happen next.
NEATO Fun drawing!
HELLBOB PARANORMAL PANTS!!! That sounds fantastic, o to be a fly on the wall at Film Roman. Talking of Mr Johnson (and I can see Mr Krabbs being a shoe-in for that role), I will be doing two more characters from the HELLBOB universe - ABOB Sapien and BOBster Johnson. A trio of Bob themed superheroes!
But I haven't forgotten RoBOBcop and BOBzilla.....
Or the ABOBiminal Doctor Phibes?
OR the ABOBinable Dr Phibes! :-D
ah ah. it's really funny!!I'm gonna link your page on my blog. cheers from Italy!!
Curtis, these pics are really cool. I would really love to see some zombiefied characters too though, gotta love those zombies.
How about superheroes, like BatBOB or WonderWendy? just a thought...
hahahaa.. these are hilarious man! Thanks for your kind words on my blog. I work on a show called Ni Hao Kai-lan or aka Downward Doghouse at Nick. It won't air till probably fall of next year. Bob the Builder rocks! It's a fantastic show. Keep up the good work my friend!
Can we expect this guy to make an upcoming appearance in Bob the Builder? I sure hope so. Great drawing Mr. Bling!
Hey thanks for visiting my blog. My kids love Bob the Builder, but of course they would love him more if he looked like Hellbob and had a gun;) This is a fun blog.
Chaosboy - many thanks man :-)
Ian @ MM - Wonder Wendy? That scares me and not in a good way. Would anyone really need to see that? :-D I'll be doing a BUB THE BUILDER (Day of the Dead) I promise.
Martin - good to hear from you sir. I shall keep my eyes peeled over here - is it just in the States for now?
Josh - to be honest I don't think the guys from Bob the B know I'm doing this, which suits me fine! I should probably add that all my characters on this new theme are not in any way officially associated with said helemeted builder from preschool television... ahem...
Dave - thanks for calling in sir, you Tolkien loving uber-painter you ;-) I think the most dangerous thing we've ever had on Bob has been a spade, so reckon any kind of explosive projectile might be out...
jo bling, thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving a comment. =)i just wanted to say it's never too old to do something you would love to do.
I started drawing very late in life after meeting a number of uber talented people that were my age which inspired me to start drawing for fun. One thing led to another, and now I'm loving to draw daily.
By the way, the cartoony sketches on your blog are terrific. =)
Wow, I love your blog!!! It's really awesome, and the character designs and illustrations are really nice. Hellbob is amazing!
