Frankenstein's Cat Art Show (completed)

Well, these are the last three paintings in the series of nine Frankenstein's Cat pieces. I've actually had to go back through the others and tweak them a touch. It only occured to me while painting "Halloween" that I'd missed Nine's flies out on all the other paintings. Back I went and added them to each picture. I'll let you know when the prints of these paintings are available, if you're interested, but we're looking to hold an art show mid October at the Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester, where the originals, the prints, and the Biteneck Beatniks artwork will all be available for sale. Furthermore the art show will be moving to London and the Animation Art Gallery in December.

I've been a bit slack on the old blog lately as lots of work has come in all at once. In addition to trying to wrap up the art show we've been working hard on "RAH RAH", a new preschool stopmotion show that just this week was unveiled at Cartoon Forum in Ludwigsburg. Again, it's with my good chums who produced Frankenstein's Cat, Mackinnon & Saunders, and it promises to be achingly cute and ridiculously good fun for little ones all over. Roar if you're ready!
Furthermore I'm off to MIPCOM in Cannes next month to meet broadcasters and production companies about various new projects, specifically Biteneck Beatniks, which has now changed it's moniker to the more rounded and inclusive: "CHILLVILLE!"
Bada Bling!

Hey, I didn't know you were doing one for Castles! Absolutely fantastic, definitely interested in a print! Everything I type has exclamation marks now!
Good luck at MIPCOM with the 'niks.

Yay ! I recognize those animals, I'd like to think I had a hand in the success of that show getting made, even if I did only stitch a few pics together for you in Photoshop ! :)
Fab work on those posters !!

Paul - cheers buddy, yep, the teaser animation for RAH RAH should be online soon I'd hope for you to have a butchers at.

Joel - thanks for the kind words on the 'niks sir. Shall keep you informed on the progress there as we'd like to have a "Cat" reunion with the writers there if possible - certainly if I have MY way anyhoo ;-)

Glazey - thankyou as ever for your photoshop skillz sir. Hapless crayonboy here would be lost without buddies like you.

Mr Gilbey sir - we're joined by animation royalty here - no I didn't, although I may do it as a single stand alone painting for one of the galleries, especially in light of it being such a cracking episode!

Bushy - cheers mucker. It's come together very nicely, a bit like the Cat. I don't know whether it's entirely down to the strength of the people collaborating on it again (specifically my M&S buddies) but it's been a lot of fun. And my characters kind of draw themselves. Once we're moving forward I'll put more artwork up on the blog to give people an idea of the look of the show.

Dragonhead - thanks for calling by mate, hope you got through the recent storms unscathed.

Gordy - thanks fella, they were muchos fun to do :-) Not been to Borders Stockton for ages and not sure when I'll be back either - they messed up my last signing appearance by letting me drive all the way across the country on a Saturday to an event, under the promise that the Frankensteins Cat book we were promoting would be in stock. And I got there. And they weren't.

Hallo thar mistah Jobling, I'm Laura, a recently-converted fan of your pretty art [especially the oh-so-pretty Frankenstein's Cat], and just thought I'd stop by and leave a generic incoherant fan-message. I'll attempt to keep the zombie-drooling to a minimum.
ABC here in Australia just finished its second screeing of the Cat, and I caught the last 9 episodes [shall be patiently waiting for the DVDs to be licensed down here]. They went down a treat in my household, especially with my two younger siblings. They're still working towards a Cheesecake Friday, but Mum's already planted Turnips in our garden in honor of the show, so your book/cartoon series is effectively increasing our family's health!

Anyway, sorry if I come across as a creepy n00b, I was just excited to find a blog full of even more of your art and general musings. Nevertheless, I'll be keeping an eye out for the rest of your art/animation/designing/storytelling ventures.
Laura.

PS- Lovely work on the Art Show posters. I'll certainly be snagging a print or two if they ship out to Australia.

Dominic - thanks for the comments mate, it's appreciated. Certainly shall!

Mr Hound sir - good to hear from you F, the printing process has finally been sorted and I receive some demos this week. Can certainly keep you up to speed when they're available.

Jon-E! You going to come to the gallery show then fella? If Jody arranges an opening I'll have an invite winging over to you :-)

Laura/Zuki-Chan - what a sweet email, thanks for all the lovely words on Franks Cat. Great to get feedback from folk who are watching the show, especially overseas. I had heard that it had been rating really well with ABC, I take it it's holding it's own down under? God that sounds terrible! The prints will be available to purchase directly when the show opens so you can grab them online no doubt. And as for showing in Oz, I'd love to get my work into Outre Gallery down there.
