Oink x 2

Just trawling through the back catalogue of "a freelance designers pitch portfolio" and dug up these two charming wee porcine fellows, who you can no doubt guess the names of. I was asked to pitch in my take on the characters, keeping the retro feel that they wanted. Sadly, the production company went with big emotive eyes in then end, whereas I felt that beady eyes were (and should have remained) synonymous with the piggy fellows. Ah well, you don't always get them all.

Very busy week doing lots of writing, plus things are really kicking off with Frankenstein's Cat. Am waiting for the nice fat juicy workload to wing it's way to me at present :-)

Mmmm, two pigs, they're pink and one looks slightly perky...would their names be Cannon and Ball ? Laverne and Shirley ? Mike and Bernie Winters ?

One smells bad, the other one is a bit sly. Stinky and Smirky would sound about right to me!

Hello! great characters - you designed bob the builder? wow, respect :D

Andrew Glazebrook said...

That may be but I taught him everything he knows !!!

and I bought him everything he owns.

That means we own 50% each...you can keep hairy bits of him,no hang on that's 80%...let me think this over !

Well, I can't make my mind up between the two of you. Which one's Stinky and which one's Smirky? You can get dibs if you like, though I suppose the latter is the one you're both after ;-D

Met Nic of Zombiedollar$ fame today in Boro. Thoroughly top chap and looked uncannily like a hybrid of myself and INJun :-D

Our love child lives?

Aye, Tis true. Born on a dark, windy night on the outer edges of Green Lane some thirteen years ago, the forbidden forces of the unholy union which spawned me have withered my shell but still the resemblance is there for those who dare look.

We ought to have a family photo done, professional like, just the three of us, Mum, Dad, and we baby Nik.

Aw... the damage.

Best not ask who is Mum, whoo is Dad.

Images of Edward, Tubbs and David spring to mind.
All roads seem to come back to LoG these days.

Ken, no problem sir, nice to hear from you too. Wallace & Gromit was a fleeting flirtation with the plasticene pair as it was my first gig in the industry as work experience upon leaving art college :-) Loved every minute, they're a top studio.

Cheers Nate, comments most welcome. These pig designs are just jobbing gigs but if you look at the first archives on this site you'll find my BITENECK BEATNIKS development designs. Bit more "L.A" ;-)

Mark is a sweetheart, we've known each other a few years from the festival circuit both in the UK and US.
